The Green Mountain 400

The Green Mountain 400 is a 10 hour mini rally designed to send riders to out of the way places on the greatest roads of New England before returning to the start for a bike show and party.  As a day ride with a party at the finish, The Green Mountain 400 more of a social event than the Minuteman 1000.

The Green Mountain is an event for vintage motorcycles.  We define vintage as any motorcycle with a build date of 1983 or older.  Classes will be defined based on entry, we will strive to group machines by displacement and mileage potential.  No GPS, Cell Phones or other electronic gadgets may be mounted unless they were available when the bike was built.  This means that you could strap a Timex to your bike with no issue but a Garmin GPS or cell phone is out.

The Green Mountain 400 is also open to members in good standing of the Yankee Beemers who may ride a bike of any age.    While the Yankee Beemers is a BMW club, membership is open to all regardless of what you ride.

In the past the GM 400 was held in Vermont over Columbus Day Weekend.  A few years of bad weather coupled with expensive accommodations (think peak foliage season) lead to the cancellation of the 400 until our sponsor, Max Stratton of Max BMW suggested that we bring the 400 back as a vintage event.

It is our desire to combine motorcycling with a nice resort experience where you and your spouse / significant other can enjoy a great weekend.  With this in mind we host the event at the Clarion Resort and Conference Center in Northampton, MA.  In addition to all the attractions of the area the hotel offers tennis, indoor and outdoor pools along with two full service restaurants.

Riders will be treated to three meals.  There will be a banquet Friday evening where ride details will be provided.   After the ride there will be a bike show with a BBQ dinner under the big top adjacent to the motorcycles.  Sunday morning we will have an awards brunch for both the Green Mountain 400 and the Minuteman 1000.

Prizes will be awarded for both the ride and the post ride bike show.  Classes will be determined based on entries.

Rules, schedule and hotel information are the same for the Minuteman 1000 and the Green Mountain 400.
